The short answer: plan the safe utility handoff, document the full access route, and define exactly what leaves the property.
Measure the narrowest point
Record the clear opening with the gate fully open. Hinges, latches, block walls, air-conditioning equipment, and plants can reduce usable width.
Follow the whole path
Measure tight corners, roof overhangs, steps, slopes, and the place where the spa would turn toward the driveway. A wide gate does not help if the next corner is too tight.
When dismantling makes sense
If the intact unit cannot move safely, controlled dismantling may create manageable sections. The estimate should distinguish that work from a straightforward intact move.
